St Aldhelms Head and Milky Way
This ancient chapel sits atop the cliffs of St Aldhelms Head making the perfect subject for a light-painted night photography scene. This image is deliberately colourful and the light-painting brings out textures in the grass and building that would simply not be visible in ambient night light alone. I would class this form of complex composite image as the most difficult and rewarding of the images that I create.
This particular image took five visits to the location over a three to four year period before the conditions were finally right for the shots to be taken. I am very pleased that I persevered.
Print run limited to 100 in 30x20; 50 in 45x30; 20 in 60x40; 10 in 90x60 cm
